*** Please note that submitting an application does NOT assure you of being a Judge at this year's Almost Heaven BBQ Bash, and selection to the judging process includes all facets of this process. You may be asked to serve at Turn-In, as a Table Captain (if certified), judge, work the left over table or any other position necessary to run the judging process of a KCBS contest. If you are unwilling to work at any of these areas, we ask that you not apply. KCBS Judging Coordinators, KCBS Reps and Almost Heaven BBQ Bash organizers will assist in finalizing the panel of judges.

Our Judge Coordinator, Greg Gordon, will confirm receipt of your interest via email and notify accepted judges by email or telephone no later than early May. Please understand that the panel of judges, cannot be finalized without determining the number of competing teams, with many not entering until closer to the contest dates.
Main Judging will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 in the training room of the Buckhannon Fire/Police Dept. safety complex with Master and Backyard Teams presenting the 4 main meats in KCBS's new "Open Contest" format. A special "Mystery Box" ancillary will be offered again this year, with A. F. Wendling Food Services providing the protein and other ingredients.
